About The Position

ServiceNow is hiring a Forward Deployment Engineer (FDE) to work at the intersection of engineering, product, and customer success. This is a hands-on field engineering role, focused on deploying, troubleshooting, and achieving product outcomes in customer environments rather than sales engineering. The engineer will work directly with customer engineering teams to implement, configure, and optimize Application Security (AppSec) solutions, helping customers remove friction and realize value in production. The role involves leading customer deployments and integrations, solving technical problems across infrastructure, APIs, and application layers, and supporting adoption across multiple customers. The FDE will also share real-world product insights with engineering and may fix bugs or contribute code to address product gaps. The position requires travel of 25–50% for on-site customer engagement. ServiceNow describes the work persona as Flexible or Remote; the assigned persona depends on the employee’s role and work location.

  • 4–8+ years of experience in software engineering, DevOps, or field engineering roles.
  • Strong experience with Application Security (AppSec) concepts, including SAST, DAST, APIs, and vulnerabilities.

  • Keep high-value customers engaged, productive, and expanding their usage.
  • Partner with Customer Success on POVs, onboarding, and adoption strategies.
  • Gather real-world usage insights and turn them into actionable product feedback.
