Salesforce is hiring a Forward Deployment Engineer for its Systems Integration Agent team within Salesforce AI Labs. The team is developing an enterprise computer-use product that learns to operate applications such as SAP, Oracle, and Workday and turns that knowledge into reusable, code-backed actions. The role combines software engineering and customer-facing deployment work, with the goal of bringing reliable automation for consequential business processes into production. The engineer will work closely with customers and the team’s leader and engineers, with autonomy to shape an early product and support from Salesforce. The engineer will work with customer process owners and IT teams to select workflows, define success criteria, and obtain the test access and data needed to build. They will lead practical sessions that help customers use the product, communicate its capabilities and limitations, and connect technical results to business outcomes. They will write custom JavaScript tools, debug failures across browser behavior, agent execution, application state, and backend services, and develop tests for business outcomes, exceptions, partial completion, and recovery. They will also help launch and stabilize workflows, document monitoring and recovery procedures, and establish support ownership. Deployment learnings will be used to develop reusable tools and tests and to work with core engineering on recurring product gaps. The role involves approximately 40–60% travel, typically several days onsite at a time, for customer discovery, hands-on build sessions, and launches. The job posting lists a typical annual base salary range of $172,500–$260,100, with a range of $207,800–$285,800 in select San Francisco and New York City metropolitan area cities; these ranges exclude bonus, equity, and benefits.
