Forward Deployed Software Engineer, Internship - Warp Speed
About The Position
The Forward Deployed Software Engineer internship on Palantir’s Warp Speed team focuses on helping revitalize the American industrial base. Engineers work directly with customers, from factory floors to board rooms, to understand critical problems and design and implement data-driven solutions. FDSEs use technical expertise, creativity, and problem-solving skills to help organizations apply their data and AI to important operational challenges. The role involves working closely with customers to understand complex issues, then architecting and building solutions using business-critical data and Palantir’s platforms. Interns work in small, agile teams and own end-to-end execution and implementation of high-stakes projects, with the autonomy of a startup and the resources, mentorship, and stability of an established technology company.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Person.
- Must be graduating in December 2027 or Spring 2028.
- Strong engineering background; fields of study may include Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics, or Data Science.
- Strong coding ability and demonstrated proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, C++, TypeScript/JavaScript, or similar.
- Ability and interest to travel up to 25% to client sites, as needed; travel may be flexible based on personal preferences.

- Experience or curiosity about working with large-scale data to address valuable business problems.
- Ability to collaborate efficiently with technical and non-technical individuals and comfort working in a dynamic environment with evolving objectives and user iteration.
- Highly analytical approach and eagerness to solve technical problems using data structures, storage systems, cloud infrastructure, front-end frameworks, and other technical tools.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with fellow engineers on architecture and design decisions.
- Wrangle large-scale data and use AI to accelerate and enhance critical operations.
- Develop custom applications tailored to customer needs.
- Engage directly with customer stakeholders, from technical teams to executives.
- Shape team strategy and drive projects from ideation through deployment.
