Forward Deployed Software Engineer, Internship - Warp Speed
About The Position
Palantir’s Warp Speed team builds on manufacturing expertise to help revitalize the American industrial base. Forward Deployed Software Engineers work directly with customers, from factory floors to board rooms, to understand important problems and design and implement data-driven solutions. They apply technical skills, creativity, and problem-solving ability to help organizations use data to make better decisions and create real-world impact. FDSEs work side by side with customers to understand challenging problems, then architect and build solutions using business-critical data and AI. Working in small, agile teams, they own end-to-end execution of high-stakes projects, with the autonomy of a startup and the resources, mentorship, and stability of an established technology company. The position may involve travel to client sites, and Palantir encourages in-person work while some teams offer hybrid options.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Person.
- Must be graduating in December 2027 or Spring 2028.
- Strong engineering background; relevant fields include Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics, and Data Science.
- Strong coding ability and demonstrated proficiency in Python, Java, C++, TypeScript/JavaScript, or a similar language.
- Ability and interest to travel up to 25% to client sites, as needed; travel arrangements may be flexible based on personal preferences.
Nice To Haves
- Experience or curiosity about working with large-scale data to address valuable business problems.
- Analytical approach and eagerness to solve technical problems involving data structures, storage systems, cloud infrastructure, front-end frameworks, and other technical tools.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical teammates in a dynamic environment with evolving objectives and iteration with users.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with fellow engineers on architecture and design decisions.
- Wrangle large-scale data and use AI to accelerate and enhance critical operations.
- Develop custom applications tailored to customer needs.
- Engage directly with customer stakeholders, including technical teams and executives.
- Shape team strategy and drive projects from ideation through deployment.
- Own end-to-end execution and implementation of high-stakes projects.
