About The Position

Jetson is building the first fully vertically integrated home electrification company, making clean energy simple, transparent, and affordable. We rely heavily on technology, automation, and data to scale this impact. The Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) role is a new position designed to help scale the company by embedding engineers within specific teams to build the agents, tools, and automations that improve their operations. As an FDE on the Supply Chain team, your customers are Jetson's internal teams, and you will work closely with them to understand their needs and build solutions. This role emphasizes shipping functional solutions quickly and iterating based on feedback, with a focus on a shared internal platform that accelerates future development. The ideal candidate is a builder who is fluent in high-level programming languages, comfortable with APIs and cloud tooling, an excellent communicator, a fast learner excited by the supply chain domain, and AI-native.

Requirements

Strong engineering fundamentals, good judgment, and a drive to ship solutions.
Fluent in TypeScript, Python, or other high-level languages.
Comfortable with SQL, APIs, and cloud tooling.
Ability to write code that others can build upon.
Value breadth and speed over deep specialization.
Excellent communication skills to understand stakeholder needs, explain tradeoffs, and drive adoption.
Fast learner with the ability to get deep into Supply Chain operations (procurement, inventory, demand planning, logistics).
Familiarity with ERP/WMS/PLM systems (NetSuite, RF Smart, Arena) is a plus.
AI-native approach, using tools like Claude Code or Cursor, and understanding of challenges like latency, cost, reliability, evaluation, and graceful failure.
Comfortable working without a predefined playbook and thriving in undefined problem spaces.
Ability to measure success by team efficiency and capability improvements, not just lines of code.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with procurement, inventory, demand planning, or logistics.
Experience with ERP/WMS/PLM systems (NetSuite, RF Smart, and Arena).

Responsibilities

Embed with the Supply Chain team to learn procurement and inventory workflows, demand planning, supplier relationships, system stack, and equipment flow.
Design, build, and ship AI agents to automate or accelerate supply chain workflows, such as drafting and tracking purchase orders or flagging inventory discrepancies.
Build and maintain integrations and automations to ensure accurate data flow across systems like NetSuite, RF Smart, and Arena for inventory, PO status, BOM updates, and warehouse transactions.
Develop dashboards and tools to provide real-time visibility into stock, in-transit orders, upcoming demand, and forecasts for purchasing, planning, warehouse, and leadership teams.
Question requirements directly with the team to identify the most effective and often smaller solutions, prioritizing shipping value and iterating.
Contribute reusable capabilities to the shared internal platform to benefit multiple teams, balancing immediate supply chain needs with long-term platform development.
