About The Position

Provectus is hiring a Forward Deployed AI Architect to embed with enterprise clients, including banks, insurers, and health systems, understand their operational work and constraints, and build and deploy Claude- and AWS-based systems in regulated production environments. The role is hands-on and autonomous, spanning problem framing through production delivery. Architects work as part of the customer’s team alongside a Forward Deployed Executive, starting from Provectus industry Blueprints and feeding field learnings back into them. Work includes Cowork Activation, Agentic SDLC, and Blueprint Activations in Financial Services and Healthcare, as well as helping shape enterprise AI adoption and the tooling and frameworks of Provectus’s AI delivery practice. Provectus describes itself as an Anthropic and AWS Partner with 350+ builders, 100+ customers in production, and 150+ certified architects. The company offers access to current Claude models, opportunities to contribute to talks, open source, and published work, and engagements across industries. The role includes onsite visits to client facilities and to the company’s New York City office once a week. The position is full-time, with a base salary of $180,000–$200,000 plus bonuses and OTE up to $250,000. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Requirements

Typically 7 or more years of software-building experience, including a substantial share of production coding for which the candidate was accountable.
Hands-on software development experience and intent to remain hands-on.
Willingness and demonstrated ability to learn an unfamiliar business function quickly before building a solution.
Experience shipping GenAI/LLM systems to production, including addressing challenges beyond prototypes.
Experience building or owning an evaluation suite for a nondeterministic system, with the ability to explain what was measured and why.
Strong engineering fundamentals and ability to become productive in an unfamiliar codebase or programming language.
Proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript.
Cloud-native delivery experience on AWS, including operational considerations for systems inherited by others.
Presales experience and ability to communicate credibly with senior stakeholders, including business unit leaders and CTOs.
Comfort with ambiguity, ownership, and engagements that begin underspecified.
Hands-on experience with Claude, Claude Code, and Cowork, including skills, workflows, MCP, integrations, connectors, or custom harnesses.

Nice To Haves

Experience with containers and orchestration such as Kubernetes or ECS, and production CI/CD.
Infrastructure-as-code depth with AWS CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform.
Open source contributions or public writing about applied AI.
Experience with GCP or Azure.

Responsibilities

Learn the client’s operational work and constraints from the inside before writing code.
Rebuild client functions from first principles alongside the client and a Forward Deployed Executive.
Build and deploy production systems as part of the customer’s team, owning the work from problem framing through production.
Work autonomously and determine the approach rather than relying on assigned tickets or predefined scope.
Start engagements from existing industry Blueprints and contribute lessons from the field back into those systems.
Deliver Cowork Activation, Agentic SDLC, and Blueprint Activations in Financial Services and Healthcare.
Help leading enterprises adopt AI, from strategy through first deployment.
Help build tools and frameworks for the growing AI delivery practice.
