About The Position

The Forklift / Warehouse Utility position is based at Abbott Nutrition’s new distribution center in Altavista, Virginia. Abbott Nutrition develops science-based nutrition products for people of all ages. In this role, the employee supports warehouse and distribution operations, including receiving, shipping, material handling, order picking, and warehouse cleanup. The role requires accurate documentation and data entry, adherence to process procedures, and compliance with FDA, OSHA, and Abbott policies and procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Create accurate, legible receiving documentation, perform data entry, maintain applicable databases, and process inbound pallets through the proper procedures.
• Perform loading, unloading, case picking, barcoding, and palletizer tasks safely and efficiently while following process procedures and documentation requirements.
• Load trailers in accordance with weight requirements and safely operate palletizer equipment and the shuttle wagon/switcher to meet business needs.
• Perform shipping and receiving office functions, including maintaining accurate documentation and databases, communicating professionally, and ensuring bills of lading are signed and dated by the common carrier driver and clerk during the shift.
• Store, pick, or assemble raw materials and verify commodity number, quantity, release status, and lot number.
• Check materials against packaging lists, invoices, freight bills, or other documentation for conformity and accuracy.
• Clean finished goods warehouse areas.
• Perform other tasks assigned by management to meet business needs.
• Meet compliance standards, including FDA, OSHA, and Abbott policies and procedures.
