About The Position

This position is based at Abbott Nutrition’s new distribution center in Altavista, Virginia. The role supports warehouse receiving, shipping, and material-handling operations, including processing inbound pallets, loading and unloading, case picking, barcoding, palletizer operations, and shipping/receiving office functions. The position also involves storing, picking, or assembling raw materials; checking materials and documentation for accuracy; and cleaning finished-goods warehouse areas. Employees must follow applicable FDA, OSHA, and Abbott compliance standards and procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Create accurate and legible receiving documentation, enter data accurately, maintain applicable databases, and process inbound pallets through the proper procedures.
• Perform loading, unloading, case picking, barcoding, and palletizer tasks safely and efficiently, following procedures and documentation requirements.
• Ensure trailers are loaded to meet weight requirements.
• Safely operate palletizer equipment and a shuttle wagon/switcher to meet business needs.
• Perform shipping and receiving office functions, maintain accurate and timely database entries, communicate professionally, and ensure bills of lading are signed and dated by the common carrier driver and clerk during the shift.
• Store, pick, or assemble raw materials and verify commodity number, quantity, release status, and lot number.
• Check materials against packing lists, invoices, freight bills, and other relevant documents for conformity and accuracy.
• Clean finished-goods warehouse areas.
• Complete other tasks assigned by management to meet business needs.
• Meet FDA, OSHA, and Abbott compliance standards, policies, and procedures.
