About The Position

The Forklift Driver works at Abbott’s Altavista, Virginia location in the Abbott Nutrition division. The role supports warehouse distribution by moving materials from inventory to designated areas and moving finished products to support customer shipments and other destinations. The position uses forklifts, including a reach forklift with a push-pull attachment, and a Cambar radio-frequency inventory system to store, pick, assemble, and ship finished goods. The employee verifies product details and shipping documentation, maintains FIFO inventory flow and accurate records, reconciles inventory errors, and keeps the finished-goods warehouse and work area clean. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the timely and accurate movement of materials from warehouse inventory to designated areas.
• Coordinate the timely and accurate flow of finished products to support shipments to customers and other destinations.
• Load and unload materials using a forklift.
• Use the Cambar radio-frequency inventory system to store, pick, or assemble finished products for shipment.
• Use ship orders, warehouse paperwork, and RF terminals for shipping and receiving finished products.
• Maintain proper FIFO flow of finished products, including operating a forklift truck with a push-pull attachment (reach forklift).
• Store, pick, or assemble finished goods and verify item number, quantity, release status, and lot number.
• Check materials against packing lists, invoices, freight bills, or other relevant documentation for conformity and accuracy.
• Apply knowledge of finished-product nomenclature and procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness of the work area and finished-goods warehouse.
• Maintain accurate records and reconcile inventory errors.
• Perform other tasks assigned by management to meet business needs.
