About The Position

This is a full-time position for a Forklift Operator (PR04) in the Freezer Warehouse at the Greenfield Dr Plant, formerly known as Williams Sausage Company. The starting pay is $17.95/HR. The role involves unloading finished product and raw materials from trucks and receiving inbound product from the plant floor. Responsibilities include stocking and maintaining warehouse inventory with proper product rotation, picking, staging, and recording code dates of finished products, and loading finished products onto trucks. The position requires heavy physical labor, including walking, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling, and working in sub-freezing temperatures for extended periods. On-the-job training will be provided to new team members. Forklift certification is required upon hire. Manual dexterity is needed for operating machinery, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds is necessary. The successful candidate must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

Requirements

  • 6 Months work experience with one employer in the last 24 months.
  • Worker history must be documented on application or resume.
  • Forklift certification upon hire.
  • Manual dexterity required for operating machinery.
  • Must be willing and able to lift up to 50 pounds.

  • Working in this environment requires the use of safety equipment to include: steel-toed work boots, ear plugs, hair net, hard hat, beard net (if applicable), and smock.

Responsibilities

  • Unload finished product and raw materials from trucks and receive in-bound product from plant floor.
  • Stock and maintain warehouse inventory in designated area and assure proper rotation of product by manufacture or Use/Freeze by date.
  • Pick stage and record code dates of finished products.
  • Load finished products onto trucks.
  • Unload raw materials and finished goods from trucks.
  • Move raw materials and finished goods to warehouse storage.
  • Ensure proper rotation of all products and raw materials.
  • Pick finished goods and sample goods per order forms.
  • Assure that oldest finished products by manufacture date or “FIFO” First In First Out Method.
  • Record quantities picked and code dates on Picking Tickets.
  • Make sure all out-bound trailers are clean before loading.
  • Make sure out-bound trailers cooling units are set to the proper temperature.
  • Verify unit count of all items loaded.
  • Responsible for quality control. No damaged product is sent out. No damaged raw material is accepted in.
  • Report all damages to supervisor.
  • Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs).
  • Operate forklift, pallet jacks and yard trucks.
  • Unload in-bound raw materials and finished goods as directed by supervisor.
  • Complete receiving documentation on all in-bound and returned product that is unloaded.
  • Rotate and clean finished goods coolers/freezers daily.
  • Communicate with operators from other shifts.
  • Clean and maintain work area.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Provide on-the-job training to new team members.
