About The Position

NewCold is seeking reliable, safety-focused Forklift Operators for its automated cold storage facility in Burley. The role involves handling customer products and orders accurately throughout warehouse operations, including picking, stacking, wrapping, tagging, storing, and shipping products by truck, container, or rail. Operators work in a fast-paced frozen warehouse, follow established safety and product-handling procedures, and collaborate with coworkers and supervisors to meet productivity goals. Appropriate cold-weather gear is provided by the employer.

Requirements

• Proficient in operating sit-down and/or stand-up forklifts.
• Strong understanding of warehouse safety protocols and equipment handling.
• Ability to read and interpret shipping documents.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work in temperatures of -5°F for extended periods.
• Ability to frequently stand, walk, bend, reach, and climb in and out of forklifts.
• Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
• Manual dexterity and ability to operate warehouse equipment safely.
• Must wear appropriate cold-weather gear.

Nice To Haves

• At least 1 year of forklift experience in a warehouse or distribution center environment is preferred.
• Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS).
• Experience using RF scanners and inventory systems.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate forklifts to move pallets and materials within a frozen warehouse.
• Load and unload trucks, containers, and rail cars.
• Stage and organize products in designated areas.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and report issues.
• Assist with receiving, stocking, and accurately picking orders.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment in accordance with NewCold and OSHA standards.
• Follow proper handling and storage procedures to maintain frozen-product integrity.
• Follow established shipping and receiving procedures.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet productivity goals.
• Maintain regular, dependable attendance and a high level of performance.
• Wear all NewCold- and OSHA-mandated personal protective equipment.
• Demonstrate knowledge of company safety programs.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
