About The Position

The Forklift Operator serves in a warehouse role that supports safe and efficient operations through forklift operation, inventory management, order picking, material handling, and shipping and receiving. The position helps ensure customers’ products are loaded and unloaded on time and warehouse operations run smoothly. Requirements

• At least 3 years of relevant experience.
• Proven proficiency operating various types of forklifts in a warehouse or similar environment.
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems and processes.
• Ability to accurately read and interpret work orders and shipping documents.
• Strong knowledge of material-handling techniques and best practices.
• Proficiency in order picking and inventory management procedures.
• Ability to load, unload, and move materials while maintaining balance and stability.
• Familiarity with inventory control processes and systems.
• Accuracy when handling products and completing paperwork.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly.
• Effective communication skills and a friendly, cheerful, can-do demeanor.
• Excellent time and task management skills.
• Adaptability to shifting priorities and effectiveness in a fast-paced environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Flexibility and ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments, including heat, noise, fumes, odors, or dust, and near moving machinery, vehicles, chemicals, and heights.
• Comfort working at elevated heights up to 25 feet using a lift or aerial platform; occasional ladder use to reach objects stored up to 6 feet off the ground.
• Ability to perform heavy work, exerting up to 75 pounds of force occasionally, up to 35 pounds frequently, and up to 15 pounds occasionally, as described in the posting.
• Ability to perform the listed physical activities, including climbing, stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, sitting, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and smelling.

Responsibilities

• Operate reach trucks, clamp trucks, standard forklifts, and other heavy equipment to move materials within the warehouse.
• Safely load and unload materials from trucks and storage areas according to customer requirements.
• Assist with shipping and receiving, including checking inventory and verifying orders.
• Work with Warehouse Supervisors to support efficient warehouse operations.
• Organize customers’ products by type or lot number.
• Perform routine forklift maintenance checks and report issues or malfunctions.
• Follow safety protocols and keep the work area clean and organized.
• Contribute to ongoing efforts to improve experiences with MainOcean.
• Work weekends as needed.
