About The Position

The Forklift Operator serves in a warehouse role supporting safe and efficient operations through forklift operation, inventory management, order picking, material handling, and shipping and receiving. The position helps ensure customers’ products are loaded and unloaded on time and handled according to customer requirements.

The role involves operating reach trucks, clamp trucks, and standard forklifts; moving and organizing products; checking inventory and orders; and maintaining a clean, safe work area. The employee works with Warehouse Supervisors and contributes to continuous improvement. Weekend work may be needed on an as-needed basis. Duties may change, and new duties may be added at any time.

The work takes place both indoors and outdoors and may involve high temperatures, substantial noise, moving mechanical parts and vehicles, chemicals, fumes, odors, dust, narrow aisles and confined spaces, and working at elevated heights. Physical activity includes heavy work, climbing, stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, sitting, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, and using vision, hearing, speech, and smell.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of relevant experience.
• Proven proficiency operating various types of forklifts in a warehouse or similar environment.
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems and processes.
• Ability to accurately read and interpret work orders and shipping documents.
• Strong knowledge of material-handling techniques and best practices.
• Proficiency in order picking and inventory management procedures.
• Ability to load, unload, and move materials while ensuring balance and stability.
• Familiarity with inventory control processes and systems.
• Strong accuracy when handling products and completing paperwork.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly.
• Effective communication skills.
• Friendly, cheerful, can-do demeanor.
• Excellent time and task management skills.
• Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Flexible team player.

Responsibilities

• Operate reach trucks, clamp trucks, standard forklifts, and other heavy equipment.
• Safely load and unload materials from trucks and storage areas according to customer requirements.
• Move materials within the warehouse.
• Assist with shipping and receiving, including checking inventory and verifying orders.
• Collaborate with Warehouse Supervisors to support efficient warehouse operations.
• Organize customers’ products by type or lot number.
• Perform routine forklift maintenance checks and report issues or malfunctions.
• Follow safety protocols and keep the work area clean and organized.
• Contribute to ongoing efforts to improve experiences with MainOcean.
