About The Position

The Forklift Operator drives a sit-down forklift to deliver products to the warehouse and production floor. The role may also include housekeeping duties and maintaining cleanliness standards. The facility produces hot dogs, cocktails, and sliced meats. The position is on 2nd shift and may include periodic weekend and/or holiday work.

Requirements

• At least 6 months of work history with the same employer.
• At least 6 months of forklift operator experience, which may be across multiple employers, listed on the application.
• Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, stretch, climb, push, pull, and reach as required.
• Ability to work in seasonal temperatures ranging from hot/warm (80–90°F) to cold (20–40°F), in potentially damp or wet conditions and on potentially slippery concrete floors.
• Willingness and ability to perform the physical requirements of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Operate a forklift in a safe and orderly manner.
• Receive and store incoming items according to warehouse standards.
• Maintain a safe and orderly storage arrangement for all items handled.
• Maintain cleanliness in the assigned area.
• Maintain daily checklist records, including pre-trip inspections.
• Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices, safety, audit, and food safety standards.
• Work with production equipment and associated technologies when required.
• Read and understand manuals, blueprints, plant paperwork, and labels.
• Pass the Forklift Driving Skills test.
• Meet performance and productivity standards.
