About The Position

This is a temporary/seasonal position with an expected end date in mid-late December. The role is a full-time, day shift position working Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, with hours that may fluctuate based on truck scheduling. Overtime opportunities are likely due to seasonal high volume. Elmer Chocolate is the oldest family-owned chocolate company in America, and our factory in Ponchatoula is the second-largest manufacturer of Valentine boxed chocolate in North America.

Requirements

Must be 18 years old
Pass a drug screen
Must be able to qualify for & pass forklift certification course
Must be able to pass a general math assessment related to calculating inventory
High School education or GED
Reliable transportation
Dependable attendance and ability to work overtime
Ability to follow & read instructions
Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed
Reading, interpreting signs and short correspondence, shipping documents, and memos
Basic math skills, adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Ability to stand & walk for 12 hours+
Ability to sit, stoop, bend, kneel, reach, crouch, crawl, use force, carry, & push/pull
Ability to lift < 50 lbs. occasionally
Ability to apply manual dexterity and specified visual acuity
Ability to hear and speak
