About The Position

Gossner Foods is seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to work in its fast-paced warehouse and production environment. The operator safely moves and stores pallets, including placing 2,000-pound pallets 16 feet high and navigating narrow spaces near warehouse racking. The role uses scanning technology, computers, and inventory systems to identify products and store them in the correct locations. The operator also learns equipment and loading procedures, recognizes paper labels and pallet types, and performs other duties assigned by a supervisor. The schedule is a graveyard shift, six days a week. Training pay starts at $18.50 per hour, with potential to reach $20.50 per hour after meeting all skill levels. Weekend pay is an additional $2.50 per hour.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug test.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

One to two or more years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
Forklift experience.

Responsibilities

Safely and efficiently operate a forklift and navigate the warehouse racking system.
Drive into and out of tight spaces with a three-foot variance while keeping the lift clear of racks and rails.
Rack 2,000-pound pallets 16 feet high without damaging the racking system.
Scan pallets from production and ensure they are stored in the correct warehouse locations.
Use computer and inventory systems to locate products and codes.
Learn the equipment and become proficient in loading accordingly.
Recognize and understand the different paper labels used in operations.
Learn the types of wooden pallets used and their specific locations.
Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.
