About The Position

The Forklift Operator I moves material between inventory and production and back to inventory. The role provides production departments with materials according to the production schedule and maintains required paperwork and production records. It also supports production needs, equipment upkeep, and the organization and cleanliness of material and finished-goods storage areas.

Requirements

• Minimum 9th-grade basic education.
• Forklift driving experience is required.
• Working knowledge of basic math and inventory techniques.
• Successfully complete the Forklift Driver licensing process.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Move material in process from one station to another when necessary.
• Band, wrap, and/or pack finished goods and label material.
• Move finished goods from the production area to the finished-goods inventory yard or warehouse.
• Assist production with bottlenecks and other material needs.
• Provide general preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Complete the pre-shift equipment startup checklist and report problems or concerns.
• Keep the rough-material and finished-goods inventory yard organized and clean.
• Complete production records as required.
• Follow forklift rules and policies described in company policy.
• Participate in safety, continuous improvement, and other programs and meetings.
• Perform other duties as required.
