About The Position

GenCorr, a TRG company and affiliate of Schwarz Partners is currently seeking a Forklift Operator – 2nd Shift to support our Alsip, IL facility. The Forklift Operator has responsibility for all activities associated with safely operating and caring for the forklift including operation, cleanup and recommendation of improvements. Requirements

  • HS Diploma (or GED) or higher.
  • Maintain a current Forklift Operator’s license.
  • Ability to add, to subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to use tape measure and to use a computer.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong work ethic with emphasis on safety.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior work experience in the corrugated industry.
  • Ability to work flexible hours or extended hours.

Responsibilities

  • Operation and care of forklift in a safe manner; must be qualified to properly operate the forklift.
  • Assist in training on the operations of forklifts with new hires.
  • Maintain neat, orderly, and safe stacks of stock in storage areas and when loading trailers.
  • Assist other forklift operators as necessary.
  • Complete necessary paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Turn in maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs; be proactive in the maintenance of equipment.
  • Stretch wrap units, palletize, and use corner protectors as required.
  • Adhere to daily production schedule; make recommendations for optimizing the schedule to meet cost, quality, delivery, and service goals.
  • Unload trailers as needed while checking product’s quality and quantity.
  • Use scanner and tablet to load/unload trucks, bill loads and keep inventory.
  • Make regular cycle counts on stock and actively participate with inventories.
  • Perform forklift inspections and/or machine cleanup daily, weekly, and monthly.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures and all applicable laws and regulations, including federal and/or state required environmental systems, OSHA Safety and Health rules, and standard operating procedures.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
