About The Position

This position is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts to move, load, unload, stack, and organize goods and materials in the warehouse. The role requires following safety regulations and operating procedures and using proper material-handling practices to support daily warehouse activities. The position reports to the Forklift Operator Leader, Shipping Supervisor, and Warehouse Manager. The operator loads and unloads goods, maintains stable and safe material stacks, moves materials within the warehouse, and supports inventory tracking and accurate records of stock movements. The role also involves inspecting forklift equipment, promptly reporting maintenance issues and safety concerns, and applying the company’s core values in the work environment.

Requirements

Experience operating forklifts, such as gas forklifts.
Forklift operator certification or training.
Ability to follow instructions precisely and handle materials accurately.
Good communication skills to coordinate with team members and supervisors.
Ability to work efficiently in high-traffic warehouse environments without compromising safety.
Commitment to safety standards and health and safety regulations.
Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the warehouse for extended periods.
Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for frequent use of forklifts and material-handling equipment.
Good hearing to respond to safety alerts, team communications, and forklift operating sounds.

Nice To Haves

Experience operating electric forklifts.
Experience using warehouse equipment such as scanners for inventory and material tracking.
Knowledge of load stability techniques to prevent tipping or material damage.

Responsibilities

Apply the company’s core values in the work environment.
Load and unload goods from trucks, trailers, or containers.
Stack and organize materials efficiently to maintain stability and safety.
Operate forklifts, including scissor lifts, gas forklifts, and electric forklifts when applicable.
Move materials safely and efficiently within the warehouse.
Perform regular forklift safety checks, including inspecting brakes, battery, wheels, and overall equipment condition.
Report equipment maintenance issues immediately.
Assist with inventory tracking by storing materials in the correct locations and organizing them for retrieval.
Maintain accurate records of stock movements.
Follow all forklift operating safety procedures and protocols.
Immediately report safety hazards, equipment malfunctions, or incidents to a supervisor.
