About The Position

The Extrusion Operator Assistant (also described as the Extrusion Helper) assists the extrusion operator with basic production tasks and machine startup. The role helps maintain a clean and organized work area, monitors resin feed to the extruder, cleans rollers and machine surfaces, organizes production rolls on pallets, and delivers samples to the laboratory. The position reports directly to the Team Lead and, when required, to the Extrusion Coordinator. The role also applies the company’s Core Values in the work environment.

Requirements

• Ability to work effectively within a team.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with staff at all levels, including team leads and managers.
• Basic computer skills for operational and communication purposes.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge to assist with operating blown film extrusion machines.
• At least 3 months of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform repetitive tasks.
• Ability to work in high- and low-temperature environments.
• Ability to climb stairs multiple times a day.
• Own transportation to visit more than one facility during the day.
• Use of required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Responsibilities

• Assist the extrusion operator with production tasks.
• Keep the work area clean and clear of materials on the floor throughout the shift.
• Assist with extruder startup operations.
• Continuously monitor resin feed to the extruder.
• Assist with cleaning machine rollers and surfaces.
• Organize production rolls on pallets.
• Deliver samples to the laboratory.
