The Forklift Operator operates manual and/or powered industrial equipment to perform one or more distribution center functions, including receiving, picking, packing, stocking, or shipping products. The primary goal is to move products safely while maximizing productivity. Detailed standard operating procedures apply to receiving, order pulling, shipping, and stocking tasks. The role may involve activities such as breakdown, case pulling, cycle counting, e-commerce processing, loading, put-away, restocking, returns, unloading, inventory control, cardboard handling, quick shipping, and batching. The position requires maintaining a safe and orderly work environment, meeting productivity standards for assigned tasks, and performing other duties as assigned by leadership. Work takes place in a warehouse environment with safety risks typical of loading and receiving docks and high-volume inventory operations. Occasional exposure to fumes, odors, or temperatures ranging from 25 to 105 degrees Fahrenheit is possible. Physical demands include repetitive lifting of cartons weighing 10 to 55 pounds, standing or walking for 6 to 10 hours per day, and climbing stairs and ladders.
