About The Position

Savannah Logistics Group is hiring a part-time Forklift Operator to move finished products through its distribution center. The role includes loading and unloading trailers and working in a team-oriented, fast-paced, safety-focused environment. The operator handles product and inventory movement, maintains equipment and activity records, and helps keep the facility safe, clean, and orderly. Offers are contingent upon a criminal background check and drug screen.

Requirements

High school diploma.
Proven experience as a forklift operator.
Minimum 3 years of experience.
Attention to detail and familiarity with industrial equipment.
Excellent coordination.
Valid certification to operate forklifts.
Ability to work safely and in a timely manner.
Ability to sit for prolonged periods.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
Ability to travel between facilities and yards.
Offers are contingent upon passing a criminal background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

Unload materials and merchandise from incoming vehicles and stack them in assigned locations.
Locate and move products to pallets or crates for storage or shipment.
Identify damage and report shortages or quality deficiencies.
Inspect machinery to identify repair needs and perform regular maintenance to ensure safety.
Keep inventory records and activity logs up to date.
Comply with company policies and legal guidelines.
Help maintain a safe, clean, and orderly facility.
Report vehicle or equipment defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage.
Maintain logs of trailer movements and fuel.
Communicate with appropriate departments about daily trailer movements.
Perform other duties as assigned.
