About The Position

The Powered Industrial Vehicle (PIV) Operator safely operates forklifts and other powered industrial vehicles to support manufacturing operations. The role ensures materials are loaded, unloaded, and moved throughout the facility, production areas remain stocked, and inventory is maintained to support operational needs. The operator helps maintain efficient workflow and warehouse organization while following safety protocols.

Requirements

• Able to obtain forklift certification upon hire.
• Strong understanding of safe material-handling procedures and workplace safety standards.
• Ability to accurately interpret work instructions, material specifications, and staging instructions.
• Strong organizational skills, with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills to coordinate with team members and supervisors.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., bend, and stand for prolonged periods throughout the shift.
• Must be adaptable to schedule changes and willing to assist in other areas of the facility as needed.

Nice To Haves

• Minimum of 1 year of forklift operation experience in a manufacturing or warehouse setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate forklifts and other powered industrial vehicles to transport materials between workstations, storage areas, and loading docks.
• Load and unload materials for production operations, ensuring accurate placement and movement throughout the facility.
• Supply workstations with necessary materials and move finished goods to designated storage areas.
• Follow workplace safety protocols, operate equipment properly, and adhere to OSHA regulations, including proper use of PPE and forklift safety standards.
• Maintain material-movement records, complete necessary paperwork, and communicate discrepancies or damages.
• Conduct routine inspections and basic maintenance on forklifts and other material-handling equipment.
