Forklift Operator - Day Shift

About The Position

Responsible for putting away inbound produce. The role receives and puts away produce, ensures proper product rotation using FIFO, safely operates powered industrial equipment, keeps selection slots stocked, accounts for received product, and maintains a clean and sanitary work area. The operator also keeps pallets free of tape, wrap, and wires and removes empty pallets as needed. Other duties may be assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

Six months of experience in a warehouse.
Strong reading and writing skills and fluency in speaking, reading, and writing English.
Ability to perform work assignments at an acceptable productivity level.
Ability to communicate and interact effectively with others in a professional manner.
Ability to stand for extended periods; bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, squat, turn the body, and walk.
Ability to lift and move cases weighing up to 75 pounds continuously, from floor to overhead heights.
Ability to use hands and fingers to peel and stick labels on cases and to handle and feel objects or equipment controls.
Ability to talk and hear, including hearing warning horns on moving machinery and equipment.
Close and distance vision, depth perception, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
Ability to work in confined spaces.
High endurance, energy, and strength to perform the position.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Six months of experience proficiently using a stand-up forklift and riding pallet jack preferred.
Basic knowledge of fresh produce preferred.
Experience in replenishment, cycling of product, RF (radio frequency) scanners, and other returns-related functions preferred.

Responsibilities

Receive and put away all inbound produce.

Clean and sanitize the work area.
Account for received product.
