About The Position

This role is responsible for operating forklifts to manage inventory and support production in a bakery plant environment. The position requires adherence to safety and quality standards, including SQF and GMPs. Key duties involve waste removal, battery changes, operating shrink wrappers, managing inventory devices, maintaining cleanliness, loading/unloading trucks, transporting supplies, recording temperatures, documenting case information, monitoring conveyor systems, verifying product details, and communicating operational issues. Overtime may be required to meet production and shipping schedules.

Requirements

  • Experience working in a production, manufacturing or distribution environment for 3+ months
  • Experience operating a sit down and standup double reach forklifts

Nice To Haves

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Experience working in a food processing or packaging environment
  • Experience work in a USDA, FDA, OSHA, or GMP compliant environment

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate behaviors to support company safety procedures with a focus on zero injuries.
  • Show behaviors to support quality work processes.
  • Follow and comply with all Safe Quality Food (SQF) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s).
  • Pick up and remove waste from production line floors and containers. Push waste carts to dumpster area.
  • Change out forklift batteries to operate.
  • Operate shrink wrapper and install a new roll of shrink wrap film.
  • Operate inventory control devices.
  • Maintain cleanliness in all work areas and equipment.
  • Pick full and partial pallets to load and unload trucks and move inventory into/out of warehouse.
  • Transport supplies to production.
  • Record the truck set temperatures for every trailer.
  • Manually document the SKU and number for any loose cases.
  • Monitor the conveyor system.
  • Verify code date and case count off an inbound truck and loose cases.
  • Communicate to the Coordinator or the Team Lead or operation issues.
  • Work overtime to achieve production and shipping schedules.
