About The Position

Wiese is seeking a Service Technician to repair customers’ material-handling equipment in Mount Vernon, Illinois. The role services a wide range of equipment, including forklifts, aerial lifts, utility vehicles, and floor-care equipment. The technician serves as a point of contact between Wiese and its customers, representing the company professionally while providing mechanical repairs and customer service. Wiese has been in business for over 80 years.

Requirements

• Strong multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize work and self-manage.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and crouch or crawl in confined areas.
• Comfort working at heights above 15 feet.
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record may apply.
• Provide your own hand tools.
• Working knowledge of computer systems and ability to quickly learn the company’s software to complete online work orders.
• Demonstrable verbal and non-verbal customer-service skills.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen, physical exam, comprehensive background record check, and motor vehicle record check; proof of employment eligibility through E-Verify is required.

Responsibilities

• Actively support, promote, and lead safety initiatives; follow safety policies and procedures, work safely, and report unsafe work or environments to management.
• Troubleshoot customer equipment problems.
• Consult customers and obtain their approval before making repairs.
• Complete and submit required paperwork, including online work orders.
• Provide customer service and offer additional Wiese services, value-added items, and equipment based on potential customer needs.
• Manage and prioritize workload effectively.
• Perform hazard assessments for each job and maintain safe work practices and quality control.
