About The Position

The Forklift Mechanic carries out preventive maintenance and repairs on material handling equipment to promote safe, efficient operation and maximize equipment life. The role also involves general building and facility maintenance, identifying and reporting building or equipment issues, maintaining maintenance records, and ensuring compliance with OSHA and other applicable standards. The position is based at the main site in Sharonville, Ohio, and pays $30–$40 per hour depending on experience.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of prior experience in material handling equipment and/or building maintenance, based on position needs.
• Unexpired driver’s license, good motor vehicle record, and ability to travel locally and regionally as needed.
• Ability to work at heights and on elevated platforms.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations.
• Excellent written and verbal interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to reach, climb, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Strong technical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in reading electrical schematics.

Nice To Haves

• Welding experience.

Responsibilities

• Carry out preventive maintenance programs for material handling equipment to ensure safe, efficient operation and maximize useful equipment life.
• Review daily Preventive Maintenance Check Forms completed by warehouse associates and make general equipment repairs.
• Identify existing or potential building and equipment issues and recommend actions to the Property and Maintenance Manager.
• Perform general building and facility maintenance and repairs, including cosmetic, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry work.
• Maintain logs and documentation of maintenance and repairs.
• Comply with OSHA and other appropriate standards.
• Purchase supplies and parts from approved suppliers as authorized by the Property and Maintenance Manager.
• Assist with special projects or other assignments as required and appropriate to the employee’s expertise.
