About The Position

The Forklift Mechanic supports maintenance, repairs, and inspections of forklifts and other material handling equipment. The position troubleshoots and repairs propane and diesel forklift engines, diagnoses equipment failures, maintains forklift systems and parts, and performs routine service and inspections. The mechanic also tracks parts inventory and supplies needed for maintenance and repairs.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Must provide and maintain personal maintenance tools.
• Ability to read, write, communicate, and comprehend English to perform job tasks, understand instructions and regulations, respond to inquiries, and accurately complete required documents, reports, and records.

Nice To Haves

• Two years of forklift mechanic experience.
• Proficiency in diagnostic software.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild propane and diesel forklift engines.
• Diagnose failures and maintain systems and parts associated with forklifts.
• Use hydraulic jacks to access the underside of units for maintenance and repairs.
• Conduct regular inspections of forklifts to identify issues.
• Perform routine forklift maintenance, including oil changes, lubrication, filter replacement, and battery maintenance.
• Monitor and manage parts inventory levels and supplies needed for maintenance and repairs.
