About The Position

The Forklift Mechanic supports the maintenance, repairs, and inspections of forklifts and other material handling equipment. The role troubleshoots, repairs, and rebuilds propane and diesel forklift engines; diagnoses failures and maintains forklift systems and parts; performs inspections and routine maintenance; and manages parts and supplies.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Provide and maintain personal maintenance tools.
• Read, write, communicate, and comprehend English to perform job tasks, understand instructions and regulations, communicate with others, and complete required documents, reports, and records.

Nice To Haves

• Two years of forklift mechanic experience.
• Proficiency in diagnostic software.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild propane and diesel forklift engines.
• Diagnose failures and maintain systems and parts associated with forklifts.
• Use hydraulic jacks to access the underside of equipment for maintenance and repairs.
• Conduct regular forklift inspections to identify issues.
• Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, lubrication, filter replacement, and battery maintenance.
• Monitor and manage parts inventory and supplies needed for maintenance and repairs.
