RO Forklift Driver - 2nd Shift

About The Position

The Forklift Driver operates a propane-powered industrial truck equipped with lifting devices to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, and move products, equipment, or materials. The position reports to the Department Supervisor and is classified as non-exempt hourly. This is a second-shift role, Monday through Friday, from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Overtime is required based on production needs. Pay is $18.50 per hour. The driver transports and stacks loads, supplies workers with materials, records material weights, completes a forklift checklist in a computer, and replaces liquefied gas tanks. The role may also involve loading or unloading trailers. The work includes frequent lifting and exposure to moving machinery, vibration, varying temperatures, airborne particles, and loud noise.

Must be able to speak, read, and write in English, including reading and interpreting safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to use common sense to carry out written or oral instructions.
Basic computer knowledge and ability to input data into a computer.
Ability to lift 50 pounds 50–100 times during the shift.
Ability to sit and/or walk for the duration of the shift.
Ability to use hands to finger, grip, handle, or feel, and to reach with hands and arms.
Ability to talk and hear.
Occasionally able to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Visual abilities include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Ability to adapt to frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events; follow instructions and management direction; and ask for or offer help when needed.

Responsibilities

Operate levers and pedals to drive the truck and control its lifting apparatus.
Position forks, platforms, or other lifting devices around loads and transport them to designated areas.
Unload and stack materials by raising and lowering the lifting device.
Inventory materials on the work floor and supply workers with materials as needed.
Weigh materials or products and record weights on tags, labels, or production schedules.
Load or unload materials onto or off pallets, skids, or the lifting device.
Complete the forklift checklist in a computer.
Replace liquefied gas tanks.
Load or unload trailers when required.
Follow policies and procedures, observe safety and security procedures, and report potentially unsafe conditions.
Maintain regular, punctual attendance and complete work in a timely manner.
