About The Position

The Adler Pelzer Group, a growing global Tier One supplier of Acoustic and Soft Trim products to the automotive industry, is seeking a Forklift Operator for its manufacturing operations in Salem, VA. This role will assist production operations in the manufacturing of high-quality automotive products as assigned to meet or exceed customer requirements. The Forklift Operator performs all functions as a team player, contributing to the success of the whole.

Requirements

  • Forklift experience is required.
  • Ability to read and comprehend operational work instructions.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds overhead as needed.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to work necessary overtime, which may include weekend work.
  • Applicants must be currently and in the future authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Knowledge of inventory (FIFO) procedures.
  • Awareness of inventory produced by area of responsibility to maintain adequate stock on hand (safety stock) and ensure all finished goods meet customer requirements in quality, quantity, and proper packaging and labeling.
  • Follows operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments and handling and disposition of materials.
  • Inspects physical condition of warehouse and equipment and informs supervisor for repairs and requisitions for replacement of equipment.
  • Ensures forklift truck is fully safe to operate by checking for safety items and completing forklift check sheet at the beginning of each shift.
  • Ensures lines are supported/stocked to provide an even flow of material to enable production to run.
  • Shares responsibility for rotating inventory to ensure FIFO.
  • Accepts assignments and other responsibilities as required in support of team objectives.
  • Maintains good housekeeping in work area and throughout the plant.
  • Adheres to applicable IATF requirements.
  • Ability to read and comprehend operational work instructions.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds overhead as needed.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to work necessary overtime, which may include weekend work.
  • All other duties assigned as required to support the plant and its operations.
