About The Position

This position supports forest maintenance, fire response, equipment operation, and other district activities across State Forest lands. The role contributes directly to public safety, resource protection, and the upkeep of essential facilities and infrastructure. As a Forest Maintenance Worker, you will perform the following duties: Facility Care: Clean, repair, and maintain forest buildings, trails, tools, and equipment. Equipment Operation: Operate specialized vehicles, machinery, and tools to complete maintenance tasks. Road Upkeep: Maintain forest roads by grading surfaces and clearing rights-of-way. Emergency Response: Respond to search, rescue, and wildfire events as trained and assigned. Forest Support: Assist with snow removal, supply delivery, boundary work, and habitat improvement activities.

Requirements

  • One year of experience in laboring work including the use of tools and equipment used in maintenance or construction; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Possession of a valid PA non-commercial Class C driver’s license or equivalent.
  • Meet the PA residency requirement.
  • Able to perform essential job functions.
