Requirements

  • Excellent undergraduate or graduate academic record, preferably in Data Management, Business Intelligence, Artificial Intelligence, Business Analytics, Information Systems, or any other pertinent technology programs.
  • Excellent record of extracurricular involvement (e.g., case competitions, student government, community initiatives, etc.).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience developing compelling presentations and reports.
  • Excellent teamwork and relationship building skills.
  • A proven track record of being able to take initiative, exercise sound judgment, analyze and solve problems.
  • Strong interest in processes and controls related to financial reporting.
  • A proven ability to handle a broad range of activities with competing priorities.
  • Strong relationship-building skills that will enable you to easily interact with clients, colleagues, and the wider community.
  • A commitment to continual learning – developing new skills, taking on new responsibilities and broadening your knowledge through research.
  • Forensic Intern’s academic experience and technical skills: Familiar or knowledgeable with some of the following softwares: Alteryx, Tableau, MS Power BI, SQL, Python, R, ACL/IDEA
  • This position requires written and oral fluency in English because it involves interpretation and application of English standards, guidance, laws and regulations, servicing of English-speaking clients located across Canada and collaboration with English Speaking colleagues located outside of Quebec.

Responsibilities

  • Work with various engagement teams to translate data requirements into data analytics routines.
  • Develop scripts and workflows to assist with data extraction, queries, and data manipulation in accordance with business processes.
  • Analyze client data and then present findings and suggest areas for improvement.
  • Review new and existing systems in terms of adequacy of operational considerations.
  • Conduct process reviews and documenting significant controls and testing internal control through data analytics.
  • Investigate allegations of fraud, determining the cause of the incident, offering recommendations on corrective action for incidents and preserving evidence for potential legal action.
  • Perform technical testing and domain research, and document findings.
  • Proactively contribute to the creation of presentation materials relating to data modeling for stakeholder discussions.
  • Deliver on-time, high quality work that meets the requirements of the engagement and KPMG’s quality standards.
  • Utilize KPMG methodologies and techniques to deliver multiple client engagements of varying size, scope and complexity.
