Oversee and lead crews for gas distribution construction projects, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency from project inception to completion. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in gas distribution construction
  • At least 1-2 years in a supervisory or foreman role
  • Proven knowledge of gas distribution systems, construction techniques, and relevant industry codes and standards (e.g., DOT, OSHA)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and project specifications
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to operate heavy construction equipment safely and proficiently
  • Proficient in basic computer applications for reporting and communication
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks
  • Willingness to travel and work extended hours as required by project demands

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree or trade school certification in a related field preferred
  • CDL Class A or B preferred
  • OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, direct, and coordinate the activities of assigned construction crews, ensuring adherence to project plans, specifications, and safety regulations.
  • Conduct daily safety briefings, toolbox talks, and job hazard analyses, promoting a strong safety culture and identifying/mitigating potential risks.
  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, and work orders to accurately plan and execute project tasks.
  • Monitor project progress, track crew performance, and ensure efficient use of labor, equipment, and materials.
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, clients, and crew members to resolve issues and maintain project schedules.
  • Train and mentor crew members, fostering their skill development and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Operate and maintain a variety of construction equipment safely and efficiently, including excavators, trenchers, and other heavy machinery.
  • Perform quality control inspections to ensure work meets established standards and specifications.
  • Complete daily reports, timecards, and other necessary documentation accurately and on time.
  • Respond to emergencies and address unexpected challenges on site, making sound decisions under pressure.
  • Ensure all necessary permits and regulatory requirements are met for each project.
