About The Position

Sureway Construction is one of Alberta’s largest heavy construction contractors, involved in civil earthworks and grading, utilities and offsite, mine operation and aggregate extraction. This role is a Full Time, Permanent position working 10+ hours per day on a 5 & 2 schedule, with overtime after 8 hours per day or 44 hours per week. The position is based out of the shop at 9175 – 14 Street NW, Edmonton, AB. Sureway is a Repair Facility, not a component exchange shop, providing technicians with a sense of ownership.

Requirements

• Must be a Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician HET with Red Seal – Off Road or equivalent
• Must have between five (5) and ten (10) years' Journeyperson experience
• Off Road HDM experience is REQUIRED
• Experience with CAT E.T. and S.I.S. and/or Komatsu is REQUIRED
• Ability to read/troubleshoot and diagnose using hydraulic and electronic schematics
• Exceptional organization and cleanliness skills are REQUIRED
• Full Complement of Hand Tools
• Personal Reliable Vehicle
• CSA approved steel toed boots with 6” ankle support

Nice To Haves

• Experience with CAT Scrapers is Beneficial

Responsibilities

• Ensure all equipment is continually maintained at the highest standards, and in a timely manner, resulting in proper function and availability.
• Perform preventative, planned and unplanned maintenance, repair, overhaul, troubleshoot and test mechanical and electronic equipment according to company standards.
• Oversee, supervise, and manage the day to day operations of our heavy equipment technicians in the field.
• Dispatching of 10-12 field heavy equipment technicians and welders to ensure schedules and timelines are met.
• Conduct performance and quality checks according to procedure
• Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program, and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture
