Component Rebuild Heavy Equipment Technician (Heavy Duty Mechanic) – Off Road (Journeyperson)
About The Position
Sureway Construction is one of Alberta’s largest heavy construction contractors, involved in; civil earthworks and grading, utilities and offsite, mine operation and aggregate extraction. This is a full-time, permanent position for a Component Rebuild Heavy Equipment Technician (Heavy Duty Mechanic) – Off Road (Journeyperson) to work at their shop located at 9175 – 14 Street NW, Edmonton, AB. The role involves working local and offers a schedule of 10+ hours per day (day shift), 5 & 2, with overtime after 8 hours per day or 44 hours per week. Sureway is a Repair Facility, not a component exchange shop, providing technicians with a sense of ownership.
Requirements
- Full Complement of Hand Tools
- Personal Reliable Vehicle
- CSA approved steel toed boots with 6” ankle support
- Must be a Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician with Red Seal – Off Road or equivalent
- Must have between (5) and (10) years' Journeyperson experience
- Off Road experience is REQUIRED
- Experience with CAT E.T. and S.I.S. and/or Komatsu components is REQUIRED
- Ability to read/troubleshoot and diagnose using hydraulic and electronic schematics
- Exceptional organization and cleanliness skills are REQUIRED
Nice To Haves
- Experience with CAT Scrapers is Beneficial
Responsibilities
- Ensure equipment is maintained at the highest standards, in a timely manner
- Conduct performance and quality checks according to procedure
- Perform preventative maintenance, repair, and overhauls
- Able to read and use fine measurements within 0.0005”
- Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program, and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture
