About The Position

We’re looking for Master Diesel Technicians with at least 5 years of experience in the Heavy Class 8 Mechanical Industry (or similar industry) to build an exciting career at Carvana - the fastest-growing used automotive retailer in U.S. history and one of the four fastest companies to make the Fortune 500! As a member of the Fleet Maintenance team, you’ll play a key role in helping deliver happiness to our customers by ensuring all preventative maintenance and general repairs are completed on our vehicle haulers and trailers in a timely manner and up to Carvana standards.

Requirements

• 5+ years experience in Heavy Class 8 Mechanical Industry or a similar industry.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Obtain at least two ASE Certification within the first 6 months of employment (process sponsored by Carvana).
• Must have your own tools to complete daily tasks, specialty tools will be provided by Carvana.
• Requires standing for extended periods of time with frequent stretching, reaching, walking and stooping, pushing and/or pulling in an environment that may be cold, hot, noisy, and wet and may have fumes or odors due to vehicle maintenance.
• Must be able to carry and transport up to 60 pounds up to 20 feet.
• Ability to communicate and interact with others effectively in a professional, courteous manner.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both written and oral.
• Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Effectively oversee day-to-day operations within the assigned technician team.
• Proactively provide the team with a clear understanding of expectations, performance measures, goals, and feedback.
• Manage invoices for all repairs completed by third-party vendors at this location.
• Manage parts room(s) according to guidelines provided by the Centralized Parts Team.
• Maintain accurate and legal records for respective ELD and fleet programs.
• Diagnose (using engine diagnostic equipment) and perform general, preventative maintenance, and DVIR for all heavy equipment.
• Use welders, torches, and plasma cutters to weld or fabricate broken parts.
