About The Position

A well-established law firm is seeking an experienced attorney to manage a high-volume docket of residential foreclosure matters in the New York City area. This hands-on litigation role involves representing lenders, mortgage servicers, banks, and other financial institutions on the plaintiff side. The attorney will handle contested and uncontested cases from filing through final judgment, work independently, and appear in court. The work arrangement is hybrid/remote, with the ability to commute within the five boroughs for office work and court appearances.

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active New York Bar membership in good standing.
• At least 5 years of New York foreclosure litigation experience.
• Track record with contested foreclosures and motion practice.
• Plaintiff-side experience representing lenders, banks, servicers, or other financial institutions.
• Deep knowledge of New York foreclosure law and court procedure.
• Experience carrying a high-volume caseload.
• Strong research, writing, advocacy, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and juggle competing deadlines.
• Ability to commute to courts and the office throughout the five boroughs.

Responsibilities

• Manage contested and uncontested residential foreclosure cases from start to judgment.
• Draft, file, and argue procedural and dispositive motions, including summary judgment motions.
• Appear at settlement conferences, hearings, and other proceedings.
• Handle discovery, settlement negotiations, and contested matters.
• Independently manage a large caseload while maintaining deadlines, accuracy, and compliance.
• Stay current on New York foreclosure law, court rules, and client-specific requirements.
• Communicate professionally and consistently with institutional clients.
• Use sound judgment to balance efficiency with quality.
• Remain poised and professional in court and under pressure.
