About The Position
Friedman Vartolo LLP is seeking an experienced Foreclosure Attorney to join its growing team. The attorney will draft complex motions, handle court appearances, and work closely with clients, court personnel, and opposing parties. The role requires a dedicated, proactive individual with a strong work ethic who can manage varied responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. The position can be remote.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience handling foreclosure matters in New York State.
- Admission to practice in New York; admission to EDNY and SDNY is a plus.
- Superior organizational skills and ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong legal writing and drafting skills, particularly for complex motions and legal documents.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with clients, adversaries, and court personnel.
- Leadership qualities and ability to manage and guide support staff.
- Proactive, independent worker eager to learn and grow within the firm.
Nice To Haves
- Admission to practice in EDNY and SDNY.
Responsibilities
- Appear in Supreme, Surrogates, and Federal Court to argue motions, handle oral arguments, and participate in mediations related to foreclosure, eviction, bankruptcy, and other default services matters.
- Maintain ongoing communication with clients, investors, and adversaries to support the timely progress and resolution of foreclosure cases.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with court personnel to manage case timelines, filings, and procedural requirements effectively.
- Oversee and mentor support staff, providing guidance on legal documentation and client communication tasks.
- Draft and manage the preparation of complex motions needed to advance cases through litigation and loss mitigation processes.
- Review and oversee paralegal work to ensure legal documents and loss mitigation correspondence meet firm standards for quality and accuracy.
