About The Position

Friedman Vartolo LLP is seeking an experienced Foreclosure Attorney to join its growing team. The attorney will draft complex motions, handle court appearances, and work closely with clients, court personnel, and opposing parties. The role involves managing a variety of responsibilities in a fast-paced environment and supporting foreclosure, eviction, bankruptcy, and other default services matters. The position can be remote.

Requirements

At least 2 years of experience handling foreclosure matters in New York State.
Admission to practice in New York.
Superior organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously.
Strong legal writing and drafting skills, particularly for complex motions and legal documents.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with clients, adversaries, and court personnel.
Leadership skills and the ability to manage and guide support staff.
Proactive, independent approach and eagerness to learn and grow within the firm.

Nice To Haves

Admission to practice in the Eastern District of New York (EDNY) and the Southern District of New York (SDNY).

Responsibilities

Appear in Supreme, Surrogates, and Federal Court to argue motions, handle oral arguments, and participate in mediations related to foreclosure, eviction, bankruptcy, and other default services matters.
Communicate regularly with clients, investors, and adversaries to support timely progress and resolution of foreclosure cases.
Build and maintain professional relationships with court personnel to manage case timelines, filings, and procedural requirements.
Oversee and mentor support staff, guiding work related to legal documentation and client communication.
Draft and manage the preparation of complex motions to move cases efficiently through litigation and loss mitigation processes.
Review and oversee paralegals' work to ensure legal documents meet the firm's quality and accuracy standards, including motions, pleadings, settlement and release agreements, payoff and reinstatement letters, status letters, and loss mitigation correspondence.
