About The Position

Friedman Vartolo LLP is seeking an experienced Foreclosure Attorney to join its growing team in Garden City. The attorney will draft complex motions, handle court appearances, and work closely with clients, court personnel, opposing parties, and support staff. The role involves managing foreclosure and other default-services matters in a fast-paced environment, including litigation and loss mitigation work.

Requirements

At least 2 years of experience handling foreclosure matters in New York State.
Admission to practice in New York; admission to EDNY and SDNY is a plus.
Superior organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously.
Strong legal writing and drafting skills, particularly for complex motions and legal documents.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with clients, adversaries, and court personnel.
Leadership qualities and the ability to manage and guide support staff.
Proactive, independent approach and eagerness to learn and grow within the firm.

Responsibilities

Appear in Supreme, Surrogates, and Federal Court to argue motions, handle oral arguments, and participate in mediations related to foreclosure, eviction, bankruptcy, and other default-services matters.
Communicate with clients, investors, and adversaries to ensure timely progress and resolution of foreclosure cases.
Build and maintain professional relationships with court personnel to manage case timelines, filings, and procedural requirements.
Oversee and mentor support staff, guiding work related to legal documentation and client communication.
Draft and manage the preparation of complex motions to advance cases through litigation and loss mitigation processes.
Review and oversee paralegal work, ensuring legal documents and correspondence meet the firm's quality and accuracy standards.
