About The Position
The Food Services Worker is responsible for food preparation and for maintaining all aspects of food preparation and cleanup in accordance with health and sanitary codes. The position is onsite at Schenectady-Park Maintenance in Schenectady, New York, includes travel of up to 25%, and reports to the Food Service Supervisor.
Requirements
- Be able to read and write well enough to perform all job responsibilities.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- At least one year of experience in institutional cooking preferred.
Responsibilities
- Maintain all requirements set forth in health and sanitary codes.
- Keep the work area and equipment clean by following established cleaning procedures.
- Wash dishes, pots, and utensils.
- Prepare and cook meals in sufficient quantities to meet meal schedules and the number of people being served.
- Prepare special requests.
- Prepare and pack meals for scheduled field trips and cookouts, and provide support for them.
- Keep accurate records of the amount of food used for each meal.
- Put away and rotate food stock as it is received.
