About The Position
As a Food Services Specialist, you help ensure residents receive meals that align with prescribed dietary needs and personal preferences, supporting a safe and respectful home-like setting. AHCS has been the primary public behavioral healthcare provider in the Alleghany Highlands area for over 40 years, offering services to adults and children with challenges related to mental health, substance use, and developmental disabilities.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Driver's License
- ServSafe certification (required; may be obtained after hire)
Nice To Haves
- 3 years of similar experience
- C.N.A. background
Responsibilities
- Prepare meals and maintain documentation for menus approved by the facility dietitian
- Post menus for resident awareness; store and label food items correctly
- Follow physician orders for special/modified diets and accommodate known or diagnosed food allergies
