Requirements

  • 18 years or older
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and regulatory compliance standards
  • Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM) certification required (or ability to obtain within required timeframe)
  • Compassion and commitment to enhancing the dining experience for older adults

Nice To Haves

  • Previous food service leadership or kitchen management experience
  • Experience in healthcare, senior living, or assisted living dining services
  • Knowledge of therapeutic diets, special dietary needs, or nutrition basics

Responsibilities

  • Oversees daily food service operations in an assisted living environment, ensuring safe, nutritious, and high-quality meals.
  • Supervises kitchen staff, including scheduling, training, and performance management.
  • Coordinates with nursing and leadership teams regarding diet changes, care planning, and resident needs.
  • Maintains compliance with food safety standards, sanitation protocols, and assisted living regulations.
  • Plans menus, manages inventory and vendor ordering, and monitors food costs and budgets.
  • Supports person-centered dining by engaging with residents and addressing preferences or concerns.
  • Leads quality improvement initiatives to enhance service, safety, and resident satisfaction.
