About The Position

Southern Foodservice Management, a national contact food service company, is looking to hire a Food Service Worker for their U.S. Coast Guard ATC location in Mobile, AL. The role involves preparing and serving food, maintaining cleanliness, and adhering to safety standards. The position requires availability for flexible scheduling, including weekends and holidays, with typical shifts between 6:00 AM and 7:30 PM. The schedule typically rotates between 40 hours one week and 32 hours the next, with availability for every third weekend and holiday. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Prior Food Service experience (especially in dining facilities) is a plus
  • Strong time management and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
  • Able to work independently and manage time under pressure
  • Physically capable of lifting/moving up to 50 pounds
  • Must have a valid ID for base access
  • Reliable with flexible scheduling availability

Responsibilities

  • Set up dish machine and pot wash sinks, including deliming the machine weekly.
  • Wash all pots, pans, utensils, plates, bowls, forks, knives, spoons, etc.
  • Re-stock food service utensils, equipment, and maintain service area cleanliness.
  • Prepare desserts as needed during the week.
  • Plate up desserts and place them in the display cabinet before meal service, and remove them after dinner meal service.
  • Take any required temperature record logs.
  • Clean all surfaces and equipment used during and after each meal.
  • Clean walls, floors, and drains in the surrounding area.
  • Sweep and mop the Dining Room, Wardroom, Chief Petty Officers Room, and Kitchen.
  • Wipe down all tables and condiment counters, organize, re-fill, and replace condiments as needed.
  • Clean the broiler, especially for 'Steak Thursday's'.
  • Sweep and mop the kitchen area, moving wheeled equipment to clean behind and underneath.
  • Follow cleaning charts and complete daily and weekly cleaning tasks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or directed.
  • Comply with the company’s safety standards and dress code always.
  • Set a good example for all personnel through appearance in uniform and work ethic.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
