About The Position

This position is for a Food Service Worker in the Food and Nutrition department. The role involves assisting the Chef in menu creation, ensuring food and beverage products meet hospital standards, maintaining equipment cleanliness, and complying with all relevant health, safety, and labor regulations. The position requires a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, with varied shifts.

Requirements

Proven experience as a line cook or relevant role
Great attention to detail and creativity
High school diploma or equivalent, culinary certification and food safety certification preferred
Physical strength and stamina to spend long hours standing and performing repetitive motions
High School education or equivalent vocational training or work experience.
A minimum of one (1) year of culinary / kitchen experience is required.
Work history of a skilled cook under a chef is preferred.
ServSafe Certified.

Responsibilities

Be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays and varied shifts
Assists the Chef in creating and designing new and unique menu items, all while adhering to budget guidelines.
Ensure all food and beverage products are consistently prepared and served according to hospital standards.
Ensure all equipment is kept clean and kept in excellent working condition.
Fully understand and comply with all federal, state and county and municipal regulations that pertain to health, safety and labor requirements of the kitchen.
