About The Position

This role involves assisting the Chef in menu creation and adherence to budget guidelines, ensuring consistent preparation and service of food and beverage products according to hospital standards. The position also requires maintaining cleanliness and proper working condition of all equipment and full compliance with all relevant health, safety, and labor regulations.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a line cook or relevant role
  • Great attention to detail and creativity
  • High School education or equivalent vocational training or work experience.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of culinary / kitchen experience is required.
  • Physical strength and stamina to spend long hours standing and performing repetitive motions

Nice To Haves

  • Culinary certification and food safety certification preferred
  • Work history of a skilled cook under a chef is preferred.
  • ServSafe Certified.

Responsibilities

  • Be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays and varied shifts
  • Assists the Chef in creating and designing new and unique menu items, all while adhering to budget guidelines.
  • Ensure all food and beverage products are consistently prepared and served according to hospital standards.
  • Ensure all equipment is kept clean and kept in excellent working condition.
  • Fully understand and comply with all federal, state and county and municipal regulations that pertain to health, safety and labor requirements of the kitchen.
