About The Position

The Food Service Worker assists the manager with food and meal preparation, maintains cash receipts and meal records, and helps complete daily reports. The role supports high standards of food-production quality, sanitation, and kitchen safety. It includes preparing and serving menu items, monitoring food temperatures, maintaining kitchen equipment and work areas, and following food safety and cleanliness procedures. Duties may change, and additional duties may be assigned without formal notice.

Requirements

Sufficient education or training to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions.
Ability to work quickly and concisely under pressure.
Food Service Certificate as needed.

Responsibilities

Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu.
Prepare daily reports verifying transactions.
Understand what is included in a meal.
Store food accurately and sanitarily.
Serve food according to meal schedules and department policies and procedures.
Use and care for kitchen equipment, especially knives.
Prepare a variety of food items and beverages in a timely manner.
Add garnishments to support customer satisfaction and presentation.
Coordinate and assist with major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment.
Follow food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage.
Follow the uniform policy.
Connect with the manager daily to understand and accurately prepare the menu for the day.
Supervise food-temperature requirements.
Maintain clean and organized work and storage areas.
Scrub and polish counters and clean and sanitize steam tables and other equipment.
Follow established cleanliness procedures and standards, including sweeping, mopping, and ware washing.
Maintain garbage collection sites and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary manner.
Perform other assigned duties, including work in other kitchen areas.
