FOOD SERVICE WORKER/CASHIER (TEMPORARY)
About The Position
Morrison Healthcare is hiring a temporary Food Service Worker/Cashier at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The role performs cashiering and general food service duties while maintaining sanitation standards in food preparation, service, and dining areas. The position pays $17.00 to $20.00 per hour. The temporary schedule runs between 6:00 a.m. and 10:30 p.m.; days may vary and weekends rotate. Further schedule details are provided during the interview. The position includes food preparation, handling and storage, cleaning, customer service, and sales transactions. The worker follows safety and sanitation requirements, approved recipes, production standards, serving temperatures, and portion controls. Previous related experience is required.

Responsibilities
- Prepare food by washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding fruits and vegetables; weigh and measure designated ingredients.
- Transport food pans, kettles, and trays between workstations and appliances according to safety standards.
- Distribute supplies, utensils, and portable equipment.
- Store food in designated areas following wrapping, dating, food safety, and rotation procedures.
- Clean work areas, equipment, and utensils, and comply with sanitation and safety requirements.
- Follow approved recipes and production standards to ensure food quality, serving temperatures, and standard portion control.
- Serve customers in a friendly and efficient manner, resolve complaints, and relay relevant information to the supervisor.
- Perform sales transactions, accurately enter purchases into the cash register, make change, accept approved payment methods, and issue receipts.
- Follow standard procedures for cash refunds and manage assigned change funds and cash receipts in compliance with overage and shortage standards.
- Replenish condiments, beverages, and general supplies while keeping the service area clean.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
