About The Position

Food Service Utility positions at Worcester State College are available on full-time and part-time schedules. Days and hours may vary, with nights and weekends required. The position maintains kitchen work areas and keeps equipment and utensils clean and orderly. Prior food service experience is preferred but not required. The fixed pay rate is $17.00 per hour. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis until openings are filled.

Because work is performed in an educational facility, there may be periods when work is not required, such as winter or summer breaks when food service needs decline or cease. Such periods may be unpaid and deemed a temporary layoff. Depending on business needs, associates may be required to work year-round, potentially at another location during break periods.

The employer is Compass Group, and the position is with Chartwells Higher Ed. Qualified candidates must be able to perform the essential functions satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Sweep and mop floors in accordance with safety and sanitation standards.
• Wash worktables, walls, refrigerators, meat blocks, and other food preparation surfaces.
• Remove trash and place it in designated containers.
• Steam clean or hose out garbage cans.
• Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.
• Assist with banquet table and front-of-house setup.
• Assist with loading, unloading, and delivering supplies and product.
• Distribute supplies, utensils, and portable equipment as needed.
• Comply with sanitation and safety requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
